I am a writer and communications consultant based in Ithaca, NY. Before launching a freelance career in 2010, I worked for over ten years as a corporate writer in the diverse fields of biotechnology, higher education, food service, and agrimarketing. Guiding professionals and executives in these fields, I honed my skills producing newsletters, magazine articles, press releases, websites, video scripts, laboratory reports, conference posters and oral presentations, among other marketing and public relations documents. Currently I am communications coordinator for Cornell University's Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering.
My fiction has appeared in numerous literary magazines and received several awards/honors, including a fiction fellowship from the Community Arts Partnership. I hold a bachelor's degree in communications with a concentration in science writing from Cornell University and an MA and PhD in English from Binghamton University.
