About

I am a writer and communications consultant based in Ithaca, NY. Before launching a freelance career in 2010, I worked for over ten years as a corporate writer in the diverse fields of biotechnology, higher education, food service, and agrimarketing. Guiding professionals and executives in these fields, I honed my skills producing newsletters, magazine articles, press releases, websites, video scripts, laboratory reports, conference posters and oral presentations, among other marketing and public relations documents. Currently I am the communications coordinator for Cornell University's Meinig School of Biomedical Engineering.

My fiction has appeared in over twenty literary magazines and has received several awards/honors, including a fiction fellowship from the Community Arts Partnership and, most recently, a New Writer Award from Sequestrum magazine. I am honored to serve this year as artistic director for the Spring Writes Literary Festival, held in downtown Ithaca, May 3-6, 2018.

I hold a bachelor's degree in communications with a concentration in science writing from Cornell University and an MA and PhD in English from Binghamton University.
